1/17/2019 0 Comments Jan 14-18Dear families, The students' excitement grew over the week in anticipation for Game Night. Thank you to all those families who were able to join us. It was a pleasure to see the children enjoying games with their families, teachers and classmates. It was especially impressive to watch the students in my room, coaching the younger students when playing Hedbands. They offered clues and words of encouragement to help their friends. Great leadership! This week we spent time discussing the life and work of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. The students shared their thoughts on his dream for equality and human rights. They were most interested to hear about Dr King's peaceful approach and his aversion to violence. Next week, the first grade has a short poem they will share at All School Meeting in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter." ~King Have a great weekend.
